I've just bought this. I've been an avid follower of Thee Oh Sees/John Dwyer prolific and consistently great output for a few years now and see him live every year. Loved the last album and the rhythmic direction he's taken with the two drummers (which works so well live.). This is supposed to...
I think it's also down to the simple fact in the current world of digital and streaming record companies don't have much money, or want the risk, of advances these days. And bands have to repay advances so if a band self-finances then they won't have any record company debt.
Bands have also...
Breakfast out and then vinyl shopping this morning. We're on a huge Radiohead tip at the moment and I bought In Rainbows and the Frau bought Amnesiac on 10". I also bought Nick Cave's new one and Aerosmith's Toys in The Attic. Lovely stuff.
I've been dabbling in modern classical stuff only recently and it's not something I know a lot about so any pointers are welcome. Thanks, I'll check them out.
And no I'd not heard of this mobile record stop. It's says they have a semi-permanent home outside Club Der Visionaire, which I know...
Think it will low end of my top 10. A very very enjoyable summer album for sure. LUH is my album of the year so far with Thee Oh Sees (double green clear vinyl!), PJ Harvey, Radiohead and Algiers not far behind. I do need to pull my finger out and make some purchases as I'm getting behind with...

Not seen anyone else mention LUH or Lost Under Heaven. The guy in the band has some previous in the music industry but the girl is a fine artist. Debut album is quite extraordinary in my opinion. This track is the heaviest on the...
You have over 1000 slabs of vinyl? Crikey. Very impressive. I reckon I have around 1500 CDs and around 40-50 vinyl long players now. I had a pretty big collection in my late teens/early 20s but stupidly sold it all and moved to CDs.
But yes, when your time comes I'll make my way to Portslade...
I've just bought the new Thee Oh Sees album on double clear green vinyl. It's a thing of beauty.
Also, like Albumen (I think) , I am now switching to 100% vinyl. It's much better and much more engaging.
The new Thee Oh Sees album is getting great reviews, anyone heard it yet? Seems they have added an extra drummer and a few kraut influences. I shall be seeing them again next week.
