Wayne Rooney claims the criticism inspires him. So, all you fools who have had a pop at me for slagging him off please listen! I'm inspirational according to "the big man"
Agree. The benefit a lot of other nations have is that a high number of their team play their club football together at a big club or clubs. Look at Spain and Germany. Due to the best English teams being dominated by foreigners the England team is largely made up of players who don't regularly...
But Rooney brings this on himself with his cocky swagger and nonsense he spouts before tournaments. Contrast this to the more humble considered musings of members of the German team.
I agree the qualifying games could start later. They don't need to start so soon after the previous tournament. But, as for opposition England will pretty much always be stuck with lesser European nations in real games so I'm not sure what Roy's point is. Is he suggesting England organize a raft...
But he has only scored 1 goal at a WC. It's all very well smashing them in against San Marino but he needs to deliver on the biggest stages. Suarez played in a pretty ordinary team but he managed to show what can be done with world class talent and pedestrian team mates.
If I was in charge I'd get shot of Rooney and let the young players have a chance. He has done **** all in an England shirt for a decade now. How much longer do you need to give him?
Someone on 300k a week should have no reason to tell anyone what they know about football. I'd rather he let his football do the talking. Before Japan he arrived late and proclaimed 'the big man is back in town.' Before the recent world cup he said he was going to prove everyone wrong and...
I think that quote is shocking. And after the game Rooney said he is still learning. Learning what exactly? He should be at his peak now. There were players at the ages of 22 and 23 tearing up the world cup..and the self-styled 'big man' of English football is still learning.
