I have adjusted my opinion of The Worlds End. Went there yesterday at 2 for the BBQ, waited until pub emptied after the Liverpool Man U game and when it was cleared me and chums took a table. Waited a bit longer expecting either the tv to be turned off or at the very least the volume reduced...

Went to The Worlds End for the BBQ Shack again last night. Pulled pork sandwich and a pint of APA. Dessert (butterscotch cake) and coffee were taken at The Duke of Yorks. The BBQ Shack rocks!

I'm with you on the Jay Rayner front. He seems to like a lot of the same, and wide ranged, food types as me (BBQ, sushi, that dry spice rubbed pakistani (I think) food, Heston Blumenthal to name a few) , and I like his style.

This is interesting. I really thought they'd struggle to make a go of this particular space. Everyone else has, and it looked a gamble. But, it seems they have pulled it off. I've yet to go but I have heard numerous and increasingly good reports. Fair play.

I went to this place about 2 months ago. I looked at the people in there, and left immediately. Too many dolly birds.

We did not book but if you have a large-ish group maybe give them a call. I'm pretty sure they'd set a table aside for you. It is a pub though, not a restaurant.

They do. I only spoke to Rich for about 10 minutes but he seemed a really nice and chilled guy.

I have been banging on about The Chimney House a few times on this thread. I went a couple of weeks back, midweek, and whilst the quality of the food was still high, I did find the menu was not as exciting as previous visits.....in fact the menu was tending towards bland.

Harry's is a brilliant place. The Pile Up is a regular Sunday treat for me.

For what it is, Nandos is good.
