Re: Closure of NSC ticket exchange

Re: Closure of NSC ticket exchange No. This isn't a commercial law, its a law intended to prevent disorder at football grounds. Which is why it's very poor form for the club to use this as (the primary) a reason for shutting down the NSC exchange.

Re: Closure of NSC ticket exchange

Re: Closure of NSC ticket exchange Is that a confirmation that the club threatened to ban bozza unless he closed or modified the exchange?

Re: Closure of NSC ticket exchange

Re: Closure of NSC ticket exchange Unfortunately this only reinforces my believe that bozza has rolled over on this. "Un-supportive" is a long way from seeking to shut down. It's a great pity that bozza won't comment on this issue. Having links with the club can be good for NSC but is...

Re: Closure of NSC ticket exchange

Really agree with this. I'm no revolutionary, a mild mannerred conservative leaning civil servant but it really pisses me off when companies abuse the power they have.

Re: Closure of NSC ticket exchange

Re: Closure of NSC ticket exchange But what I'm saying is that they have no right to threaten NSC with this. They are not the law.

Re: Closure of NSC ticket exchange

Re: Closure of NSC ticket exchange I don't think the club should be allowed to get away with using the law selectively. Either they want the law to be upheld or they don't and the law isn't in place to protect their bottom line.

Re: Closure of NSC ticket exchange

Re: Closure of NSC ticket exchange No. Not even to friends and family. So if the club says that you can then they are encouraging you to break the law.

Re: Closure of NSC ticket exchange

My argument though is that "NSC" has always acted as a facilitator. The ticket exchange involved "posters" offering and asking for tickets not "NSC". NSC was just the medium that they used to conduct the transaction. This will still be true if it done using the PM system. I admit that...

Re: Closure of NSC ticket exchange

A company can't just put any terms and conditions they like on a contract. Say for instance they put a condition on the ticket that they were allowed to come and punch you in the face at half time or put a paper bag over your head. Would that be an acceptable condition? Conditions have to be...

Re: Closure of NSC ticket exchange

Re: Closure of NSC ticket exchange But when a poster offered tickets on the exchange it wasn't NSC that was doing it, but the poster. NSC was just facilitating the exchange, just as it would be if someone does it over pm The only difference is that it takes place in private. I'm...

You appear to have contradicted yourself.

Re: Closure of NSC ticket exchange

Because the wider interpretation (and for wider I mean ticketing across lots of sports, events etc) of the ticketing terms and conditions is that they are unlawful. Specifically that its not reasonable in a contract for you to restrict a person's ability to resell their own property...

But the exchange hasn't come into operation much, and even less likely now there are more seats.

Re: Closure of NSC ticket exchange

Re: Closure of NSC ticket exchange There is a cost. Lots of disgruntled fans who now won't buy a season ticket. I already know 3 fans that aren't going to buy season tickets next year but pick and choose their games because there is generally plenty of tickets available. This sort of move...

Re: Closure of NSC ticket exchange

But on that basis neither was the ticket exchange as its clear a NSC user not the NSC executive was advertising or buying a ticket. In terms of the legislation NSC is not really any less suceptible to be prosecuted than it was when the ticket exchange operated. Not that there was any chance...

Re: Closure of NSC ticket exchange

Re: Closure of NSC ticket exchange Of course they have. They've completed a criminal act through someone Selling on their ticket. The difference is that the agreement will take place in private and so is undetectable. The fact remains though that NSC will have been used to exchange tickets...

Re: Closure of NSC ticket exchange

Though if anyone with spares replys to the thread saying they have a ticket then they and NSC are breaking the law. Bit of a farce really.
