I know he's been released but would that just be his current deal runs to 30th June or 1st July and if he signs a new deal on say 10k a week (plus bonuses) with us, he stops receiving his say 25k a week from Man Utd? Expect this one to drag on for oooooooh 2 weeks?

Could it not be that he can only sign on 1st July (or whenever), has agreed a contract in principle and is just waiting for the date to sign incase some prem team etc come in for him? That's not 97% done true but why would you sign a pre-contract and then discover someone in Prem would have paid...
