I missed these completely at the time (86 to 93 are my wilderness years). My little brother introduced me. As a lifelong batchelor, he perhaps was hinting at something? I shall never ask him. Anyway this is from the 1980s.

Oh and not all 80s Vancouver music was underproduced....

I saw them a few years earlier when they were more....restrained. Note the total lack of tattoos and camera ****ing phones.
OK, back on track with more obscure 80s indy music. I saw this line up in the early 80s in Vancouver. The original singer (on here) is English. I absolutely love Moev. Madeline (the singer) wenty on to form Family Plot with her husband.

Family plot...
Tragic. Killed himself after his father died, wasn't it?
I shall now post some classic 80s Billy McKenzie:

Here's some 80s scottish tat for you, featuring the Outstanding and much missed Billy McKenzie. Great to see the hibernian audience having such fun :

And if that didn't send the blood racing through you shrivelled old Scottish body, try this...
Ha! Before I got together with Mrs T (we were work colleagues) we were discussing something annoying (another colleague, probably) and I said 'That's when I reach for my revolver' and she immediately came back with 'Mission of Burma'. The rest is history :lolol:
Top suggestions, also, above...
I'll leave you with an obscure indy dance classic. Far too much here to be rushed. Maybe some of you might like some of this shite, and I hope its as much as I do

Right, where's that Brexit thread???
I saw someone still wearing his poppy last week. Funny old thing that.
This is quite poignant for numerous reasons and an 80s obscure classic.

These are obscure in that despite multiple releases I came across them only a couple of years ago. This track is one of those that you liste to and think, whatever. Then you listen again and think, hang on. Then you listen again and . . . . it has got you. :lolol...
This is the first track I ever heard by these lovely boys. I never heard another track by them for another ten years. This sounds absolutely unlike anything else they have ever recorded. Still going and completely wonderful.

These are a longstanding fave of mine. The record label had enough dosh to support only one of their two hot band. So they plumped for Killing Joke. Redbeat split and the three Jones Brothers became the backing band of their other brother - Howard. How weird. This track is stunning and takes me...
Here is another band I stumbled across last year. I posted something of theirs on another thread a while back. The singer sounds like a cross between Ian Astbury and Kirk Brandon, which was probably noticed at the time and a source of cheap mockery. Today he sounds simply divine...
As a big 80s indy fan, I was amazed recently to come across Lowlife, who made several albums in the late 80s. Take a listen. Anyone come across anything worth sharing recently?
