Most of you are missing the point. I know that I have a reasonable chance of being late in or late home and plan around it. I can also work from home. I don't even mind standing now and then.

The service was definitely back to normal this morning because at 7.13 the stock to form the 7.14 Gatwick Express still hadn't arrived but the stock to form the 7.29 had been sitting there for ages. This appears to be a constant. Perhaps it's all part of a master plan.

And not running on a mainline. Transpennine Express is a glorified bus. FCC service on the Brighton mainline is worse than Southern's and on much more uncomfortable trains (though slightly less likely to break down). First Great Western - aka Worst Late Western are an actual travel joke. A cliche.
