    a bit of a flawed argument that one at Tony Blair's height of popularity in the 1997 election which he won by a "landslide" he only recieved 43% of the votes,meaning 57% didn't vote for him

    yes,but using the French system of a 2nd round between the the top 2 parties Conservatives would of gained all the UKIP votes,which was ,let's face it,quite alot more than expected if Labour had won a very similiar majority,I can't imagine many Labour voters being on here saying that was close
