Excellent post. If only the politicians had shared the same viewpoint. Whatever the result, in the end, this campaign has cost our rulers a damaging amount of credibility.
It is certainly not a 'non issue' or are you willing to ignore the fact that for many people, their culture and also their working lives have changed since mass immigration in the 00's?
However, for me, it is not the main issue by a long way. I think that the exit campaign has been pretty low...
1. We did NOT know full well that we were signing up to a united Europe etc when we joined the common market.
2. The EU is a diminishing market which has contracted over the last 15 years. Therefore one doesn't have to be Einstein to appreciate that it is of smaller and smaller overall...
I imagine you know very well that the number of laws originating from Europe is variable depending on the way the law is recorded. As far as I'm concerned, I don't care less about the percentage, it should be a big fat ZERO.
As for the trade, important though it is, our trade with the EU has...
We run a massive deficit in trade with Europe. Is that a good thing?
And although terrible, if it were true that 'only' 15% of our laws were from the EU that would be an amazing reduction.
