From bout 76 onwards they did move a lot of Whitehawk/East Brighton families to the new Portslade estates, built just above near where I lived, rather than Mile Oak - thats why they built the Peter Gladwin School, which I attended from its opening, to cater for the new increasing population...

Born and spent the first ten years of my life in Portslade - looked on Google Earth recently for my old road and house. As I scrolled past the nearby Mill House Public House I noticed a bloke in the pub carpark with his son giving the camera a V sign. Good old Portslade, still miss it!
