Agree on many parts. The handball rule is an absurd handball rule though, penalising attacker, yet not defender, for the same infringement, which is crazy (but, not a VAR rule, just a newly introduced handball rule penalising the attacker). So let's keep that separate.

Offside is also problematic, looking at paused footage for a reason to disallow a goal...
Soft or not is irrelevant. Fouls are fouls, accidental or otherwise. There was a key moment at the 2007 rugby world cup final. After 2.5 mins of review, they (rightly) ruled out an England try. No one remembers that.Today took the same time, but the decision was correct. The point is they got it...
