[Albion] Club will be writing to those who purchased a ticket for Bournemouth [but didn't go]

But are they writing to the Barnet 3,000 as they are the Bournemouth 500?

But is that any different? It is still harvesting points with no intention of going to the game and the t&cs state you need to attend to get the points.

No mention of the Barnet non attendees? Why? There were thousands of these? What's the difference? If anything it's worse because these people were likely to be no where near the most loyal fans. Are they getting a letter too? What about anyone that didn't go to a match earlier in the season...

And the problem with that is by definition they are amongst some of our most "loyal" fans as defined by the club. That in itself has to be a concern? One of my worries with the scheme is the way it favours season tickets over away attendance. Sure you still need to have been to a few away...

[Albion] Club will be writing to those who purchased a ticket for Bournemouth [but didn't go]

Another fair point. Having watched the game for 120 minutes, suffered the Bournemouth catering again, I have to wonder at the irony of the club suggesting some fans have cheated. The only cheats here are the club for entering a competition that is clearly an inconvenience. If they played a first...

[Albion] Club will be writing to those who purchased a ticket for Bournemouth [but didn't go]

This is a point I made. We do exactly the same. Won't matter for Bournemouth as we all went, but for example last season my wife was ill for a game so didn't go, we just dished the tickets out without thinking. I have done exactly the same now with the Arsenal tickets in case someone pulls out...

I don't know, I only know that the data protection rules are ridiculously tight nowadays and unless people have signed for their data to be used in this way it is very difficult to share it with anyone. But I'm sure both clubs have lots of clever people who check these things.

[Albion] Club will be writing to those who purchased a ticket for Bournemouth [but didn't go]

I think Bournemouth or any other club may be within their rights to say no you can't have this and blame data protection. Imagine just for a moment if you're a married man, you told your wife you were going to the Bournemouth game but instead you spent the night with your girlfriend. Shortly...

[Albion] Club will be writing to those who purchased a ticket for Bournemouth [but didn't go]

If people take notice of this I predict we will have less people at away games as a result, which can't be right. Surely that exactly what the club are trying to avoid? The ability for one of your mates to pull out on the day because he has to work or the kids are sick or whatever the reason now...

If that is the end of it and we can just get on with it now then that's fine but if this keeps rumbling on then something isn't right. If the scheme isn't working how the club intended then they have to take some responsibility for that. I'm still really surprised they have offfered 15 points...
