Completely agree. I would draw comparison to Liverpool re-signing Robbie Fowler when they didn't really need him. He knew the club, settled and did the odd cameo, probably better than someone of a similar age who would not settle so well.
But if we can afford it why not a couple of utility players who can probably do a job for a few games just in case rather than bringing in someone on loan who may or may not settle?

What everyone is forgetting is that NOW we can afford to have a few average squad back up players. So why not? Are people saying we should just let Gary go and then get in someone else average as back up. Why...
