[Albion] Where is Alexis going? (Liverpool - for an undisclosed fee...)

    Cat off! We're not interested.

[Albion] Where is Alexis going? (Liverpool - for an undisclosed fee...)

The idea that other clubs will sell their players to us more cheaply because we sold Mac Allister to Liverpool for a very low price can at best be described as 'hopeful'!

[Albion] Where is Alexis going? (Liverpool - for an undisclosed fee...)

So it's not just NSCers who 'ought to give it a rest, it's boring' that think Liverpool have done very, very well out of this cut-price deal then...... Maybe the 'give it a rest' merchants should ... err ..... well ...... give it a ...............

[Albion] Where is Alexis going? (Liverpool - for an undisclosed fee...)

THERE WAS A CLAUSE (of some sort or other, which we'll never know the details of) WHICH FACILITATED THIS MOVE! IF - IF - if - if - if the fee was £35M, end of, then Brighton supporters would/should be very disappointed, and Liverpool would have got one hell of a bargain. If it is £55M with...

[Albion] Where is Alexis going? (Liverpool - for an undisclosed fee...)

.... and if the release clause was less than £35M, would some people really be turning up to jump up and down in glee that Brighton had played a blinder? ....and if so, are we really saying Leeds fans are deluded?

[Albion] Where is Alexis going? (Liverpool - for an undisclosed fee...)

So other The Athletic journos are throwing Naylor under the bus then? ....and it comes back to the have we done well/haven't we debate again. IF IF IF we have sold Mac for a straight £35M with no add-ons, then sorry to all those who disagree, we've been shafted, and Liverpool have got the steal...

So don't use 'bedwetters' then.

[Albion] Where is Alexis going? (Liverpool - for an undisclosed fee...)

So 'A' is bedwetters, so 'B' are lickers then. Don't really want either of those perjorative terms on NSC - I thought they'd more or less been binned by most some time ago.

[Albion] Where is Alexis going? (Liverpool - for an undisclosed fee...)

Well, patently it wasn't a great deal for us. Realistically it may have been the best one we could have got (I'm talking about the contract agreed last year, not so much the deal with Liverpool) so please get your head round the idea that disappointment at the price is in no way implying that PB...

[Albion] Where is Alexis going? (Liverpool - for an undisclosed fee...)

It seemed fairly clear that Liverpool was Mac's dream move. We have to admit, I think, that the Mac Allister negotiating team played a blinder with that contract last autumn! The circumstances, with Mac off to the WC and contract running down etc. gave them a strong negotiating position of...

[Albion] Where is Alexis going? (Liverpool - for an undisclosed fee...)

Yes, perhaps - so yes, it would be interesting to see exactly what was in the contract!

[Albion] Where is Alexis going? (Liverpool - for an undisclosed fee...)

Yes, maybe - that's what I mean by it would be interesting to see exactly what was included in that contract! I see that West Ham have just announced the price they want for Rice - depending on which figure for Mac to Liverpool you believe, it's 2 or 3 times as much as Mac Allister!

[Albion] Where is Alexis going? (Liverpool - for an undisclosed fee...)

I think he'll fit in just fine at Liverpool. It would be interesting, though, to find out exactly what was in that contract he signed before the World Cup. Even at £55M (including add-ons) that's way less than Chelsea paid for his fellow World Cup winning midfielder, it's way less than West Ham...

[Albion] Where is Alexis going? (Liverpool - for an undisclosed fee...)

That's more like it! Liverpool still have a bargain, mind, but that's not a bad deal for us either. I guess that Romano character's supporters will now claim how right he was in saying the fee would be 'a lot less than' the £60M figure suggested (well £5M is a lot to some of us!) but I'm bloody...

Actual writers/journalists can't be asked questions in your parrot infested world then? Squawk, squawk, squawk ......

[Albion] Where is Alexis going? (Liverpool - for an undisclosed fee...)

So, do you think £35M was a good price for Mac then? Sorry, but I don't. Even he/his dad wanted a clause in the contract allowing a quick exit this summer, £50M surely wouldn't have put buyers off. Liverpool fans also think they've robbed us! Hopefully the suggestions of substantial add-ons are...

[Albion] Where is Alexis going? (Liverpool - for an undisclosed fee...)

Parroting? Bollocks! £35M has been reported - some think this is true, others are putting forward various hypothetical arguments to 'prove' it isn't - but if it is true then it is peanuts. But of course, you're right. Nobody should dare to question those NSCers with inside knowledge who know...

[Albion] Where is Alexis going? (Liverpool - for an undisclosed fee...)

Exactly - and now we've apparantly bid £40M for a 20 year old defender with less than half a season PL experience. £35M for Mac Allister is peanuts - and for that matter just plain nuts.

[Albion] Where is Alexis going? (Liverpool - for an undisclosed fee...)

Lots of journalists have verying opinions - hopefully te £35M gess turns ut to be bollocks. https://www.thisisanfield.com/2023/06/liverpools-alexis-mac-allister-transfer-fee-explained-by-merseyside-journalists/ It seems that only Romano and the sources that quote him (i.e. The Daily Fail) that...
