So you recognised Elizabeth II as having been Queen in 1952 (despite her not being crowned during that year), but don't count Edward VIII as being King in 1936 because he wasn't crowned. Apologies for the pedantry, but the history of the Monarchy is something of a specialist subject of mine...

I know, but as you don't regard Edward VIII as King due to his not having been crowned I can only assume that you ignored last year's Diamond Jubilee completely and recognised only this year's events?

He was still King though, hence him having to abdicate. You can't abdicate from a position you've never held. Presumably on the same grounds you celebrated the Diamond Jubilee this year as Elizabeth II wasn't crowned until 1953?
