    [Albion] David Stockdale

Fair enough. It's all about opinions. I just don't get how you've seen enough of him to make a judgement. I'd be really pleased if we signed him and, judging by this thread, I'd be far from alone. We'll see what happens this week. Still don't think it's likely to happen.

As I said, there are some who aren't bothered but none of them mention parrying the ball into danger as an issue. It's all about commanding his area. And nobody calls him "toilet", they're just not too worried if he leaves. Also, I remember Hull being very keen to sign him permanently when on...

Known to be by who exactly? From what I read on the Fulham forums, they said his weakness was commanding his area and he's a brilliant shot stopper (at least the ones who didn't rate him were saying that). You talk as if he's as well known as Manuel Neuer.

Are you serious or being sarcastic? If the former, why is he somebody with knowledge?

What a load of rubbish. Stockdale has got good reports from all his loan clubs, especially Hull where they really wanted to sign him permanently. The majority of Fulham fans want him as their number one this season if you look at their website.

Also, I notice on Sky, it says Charlton are closing in on Henderson. The question is have they beaten us to him or have we pulled out to sign Stockdale?

Obviously, they wouldn't sell him on that basis. Also, we don't know how quickly Walton will develop. He's clearly a very talented player but, now we've tied him down to a long term deal, I don't think we should write off signing any quality keepers so we can wait until he's ready. He will...

Because Stockdale is a very impressive keeper and, if we're going for promotion over the next 2/3 years, he would be key. Hence, we won't just buy a stop gap. Also, at 28, he'd still only be 30 in 2 years time so would have a decent sell on value at that time.

    [Albion] David Stockdale

He was first choice for Fulham in the Premier League at the end of last season, ahead of a keeper who played for Holland in the World Cup Final in 2010. If we get Stockdale for £1 million, it would be an absolute bargain. He's looked great for Hull, when he's played against us on loan. I still...

I agree that keepers go for less generally. As you say it's odd because it's probably the most important position. If your keeper makes a mistake, it generally costs you a goal whereas other positions there's more chance it won't. Stockdale for £1 million would be an incredible signing but...

Hard to see Fulham accepting that sort of money for Stockdale. Would be an amazing signing but seems unlikely he will come here, especially for £1 million.
