Agreed - that's two league games in a row he's been excellent after the Forest game as well. Still mystified why he wasn't played in the second leg against Roma when Gilmour and Gross were so dominated over there and we needed a more physical presence.
Baleba has got a much higher ceiling than...
Totally agree. He’s clearly raw but I really think there’s something there and the Gross/Gilmour combination is a disaster against half decent/physical opposition.
He definitely played more cautiously than he has before but even so went on a great forward run bursting through the middle in the second half and played a couple of lovely through balls still.
He's such an exciting talent.
I've liked the look of this kid since his first game but obviously he's raw and in some games that has really shown but I thought last night he played with a lot of maturity. Really impressive and a big part of the win.
One other real bonus of having Baleba and Igor in the team is the fact they are both left footed. It opens up the pitch for us and creates more passing angles.
I’ve said this for years. It is the league that most closely mirrors the PL for physicality and over the history of the PL, is the league that players come from where they settle quickest and have the most long term success here.
Plus, France is an absolute goldmine of young French and African...
He’s brilliant! We’ve got another star in the making.
My favourite bit was at the end when he got booked actually. He was absolutely dead on his feet, suffering cramp and yet chased the fresh and pacey Gravenberch for a little while before bringing him down to prevent them countering. Brilliant...
Agree with you, I thought Dahoud was good last night, his best game for us. I think his fitness is improving as he was getting around the pitch much quicker last night.
I think he’s a really good player and in a few months that will be the universal opinion.
Yeah I thought Baleba did ok in what was his first start for us. Raw and made some mistakes tonight but he is a force. I thought Igor was decent and Dahoud had his best game so far for us tonight. Plus Pedro, although should have scored, was a constant threat and is such an exciting talent...
About right for a defensive midfielder who won’t get many goals or assists and unlikely to play that much initially. Hopefully his value will increase as he does so well for us!
Fati is £6.5m.
Wierdly in the side profile on Wiki it says he was born in Douala and in the write up, it says Paris. Everywhere else says Douala and the write up on Wiki expands to say he "joined the École de Football des Brasseries du Cameroun academy center at the age of 13" so it was Cameroon.
If he...
