One of the best examples is Real Madrid doing it with Alvaro Morata a few years ago. Sold him to Juve for £20 million with a buy back clause inserted and then bought him back 2 years later for £30 million. They then sold him to Chelsea for £60 million a year later!

Yes it's something Real Madrid have done a few times. Player has a really good season, they buy him back at under market rate and then either keep him as a fringe squad player or flog him for more money than they bought him back for.
