Now you've clarified "Lighter touch than Palace" I agree!! I'm not trying to set it up as a particularly threatening or unpleasant experience, just it was heavier than plenty of other games we've all been to including Amsterdam. (y)

I think "light touch" is a little generous. the barking dogs, riot shields and number of checks felt to me to be a little over the top compared to other matches. Amsterdam was definitely light touch and "low-profile", but this was significantly heavier than that. That said, no-one was unpleasant...

Not sure I get the "tit for tat " sentiment either. If it is abused by them then that is on them, and the acceptance/indulgence of the Ultras at some continental clubs creates the strategy employed by the security forces tasked with dealing with it. Its just easier to be S**t to smaller number...
