As you say, tickets sold generate revenue rather than those attending, and therefore the council's response is either spurious or they don't understand anything about business and finance.

You would think that clubs, if they gave a shit, would investigate why there are so many no shows. Perhaps they have investigated and prefer to be quiet about their findings, or they don’t give a shit?
