[Football] 'Top flight needs Villa vibrancy' Stan Collymore.

Villa didn't overstretch as such. They had an owner in Lerner who made a play for the top 4 at one point (£24m on Bent ??), but then realised trying to bridge the gap was futile, gave up, got bored, stopped investing, and allowed Villa to drift along and stagnate as he tried to sell the club. It...

I'm probably thinking of the EFL then, as players there have played (and scored) against their parent clubs. As far as Terry goes, I'm not sure it would even need to be written into his contract for him not to face Chelsea. A nod and a wink from Steve Bruce and he could easily "pick up a...

I'd probably add Middlesbrough to your criteria there. Perhaps Villa's one saving grace is their splendid stadium.

Not quite. Tony Bloom took over from DK in 2009 (albeit Dick never described himself as the owner).

I've heard it from the horses mouth before. Its come up again now as they're 1 game away from potentially having those two fixtures next season. The type of bloke Terry is, where everything is always, always about HIM, I have absolutely no doubt he's serious about binning off those Chelsea...

Indeed. Was reading today that IF Villa make it back up to the PL, Terry will have it in his contract that he does not play against Chelsea. Absolutely pathetic. Imagine if Villa had Chelsea on the final day and needed a result, but their best defender and captain is sitting in the stands...
