Maybe Facebook should have a "You ok hun ?" button, or a "Sending hugs" button. That'd at least eliminate about 65% of the pointless drivel on there in one fell swoop.

Not ratty in the slightest old chap. I was just giving my take on the thumbs debate whilst finishing off a cheeky bottle of red.
Plenty of people seem to like them, collect them, pay attention to them, fair enough. Just I'm not one of em.
I might do a :lolol: with a comment of some kind if something gives me a chuckle. But I just don't feel this irrepressible urge to register a response to everything I read.
I've never given a thumbs either way, nor will I.
Its lazy. If I feel moved to respond to a post, then I will quote it and take the time to type a reply. I don't do FB 'likes' or 'favourite' tweets for the same reason. If something is worthy of a response, then respond. Don't just click a tab...
