    Cockney Rhyming Slang

Is that you're idea of a retort  I suggest you go back to talking about transfer rumours as most of the things you have said in this thread have been wrong but yet you think everyone else is wrong. As I said earlier, ignorance is bliss. You must be one of the happiest blokes alive

    Cockney Rhyming Slang

I mostly heard it when I was young so they may have lied to me as they would not have wanted to have to explain what pox is, to be honest you hear a bit of it nowadays but nowhere near as much as you used to. But then again we seem to be losing everything to do with our identities. The...

I have heard it used for cab but also beer/pints. The cabs one I always just assumed was Sherbet dib dab=cab, as for the sherbet one I cheated and looked on google and surprisingly it is in the dictionary as Australian slang for beer, not sure how its made its way over here to be honest

The thing is though mate, the original cockney for time is not Harry Lime, I knew I was right and Harry Lime was used by some for time but was taken from a film called the third man, that was made in 1949(according to wiki), I will maintain until my last breath that Harry dash is flash, and...

Deaf and dumb is bum, Harry dash as in (flash Harry) is flash. Harry lime I am not even convinced is traditional slang for time. When you talk about H are you on about Harry Haywood? I do hope so, that would be funny Anyway, ignorance is bliss, as you were.

    Cockney Rhyming Slang

Lemon dash=slash, saying that though I do not think this is proper cockney rhyming slang but more recent. When my granddad or dad were going for a wee, they always said I am going for a Jimmy Riddle=Piddle.

Without getting into a whose more London debate, I think you are WRONG. I think Lemon=smart, lemon tart smart . Harry dash=flash as in flash Harry?, it may kill you to admit it but I am right, everyone has heard of the phrase flash Harry(dash=flash).

I think that the actual "cockney" one is bricks as in bricks and mortar, the same as Eartha kitt is not really rhyming slang for s**t, is it actually Tom Titt
