Having been in that position before now, I normally stick a news channel on to check.

I'm working tomorrow so I can't afford to be up an hour late, but I use my iphone as an alarm normally so I'm not looking forward to getting up tomorrow and having no idea if I'm up on time or not. Think I'll be setting up the old fashioned proper alarm clock as a back up tonight.
