Two things strike me with that statement. Firstly, 500 pages!! Good grief, thats one hell of a document-the club must think they have a very strong case.
Secondly, assuming Gus' annual leave had been planned all along (and he didn't just take it to delay matters) then had none of this happened...
I simply don't know what our budget was so I'm guessing but given the amount we spent on Ulloa alone I just can't believe we had the fourth lowest budget in the league. Didn't Gus himself say we were 11th or 12th highest in terms of budget (I may have dreamt that though).
I absolutely take your point and if that's what he has been advised then that's what he should do. It just leaves a sour taste given the likely effect it may have on our season.
Yep, saying it when he did, when he has just been out thought by a manager with less resources than he had it was completely inappropriate. And again, I say this as someone who has loved being on the Gus bus but I've rung the bell and want to get off.
And for that alone he should apologise and I say this again as someone who was firmly in the Gus camp. If any of the speculated things that Gus is supposed to have done following that are true then it just reinforces my opinion and now showing contempt for the club AGAIN by not turning up...
I know what I heard after the palace game from Gus' mouth. That alone for me would warrant an apology. At a time when we were hurting the most he comes out and talks about himself. Again. The speculated issues following this just add to my opinion.
I couldn't disagree more if you said we should merge with Crystal Palace.
"A public apology to the fans would not go amiss too" - only if it comes from Gus following his shameful behaviour (and I'm basing this only on what we know 100%).
Still defending him I see. I was fairly neutral until the last few days but right now I never want him near this club again which is a terrible shame as it's been one hell of a ride. A wonderful few years completely tainted by the events post Palace - both those we know of (i.e heard) and those...
So, I think we can safely speculate that he both didn't turn up on Friday and today. The Gus Poyet is bigger than the club roadshow rumbles on. He clearly couldn't give a monkeys about the club.
