Not sure whether I have teal tinted specs but Bortles has been quite efficient this year, he’s had a core of rookie receivers and not an above average tight end in sight. He’s not perfect, he’s never going to be Brady, but he’s improving.

Can’t disagree. Hackett’s play calling in the first half was excellent, the Patriots simply had no idea what we were going to do, in the second half he reverted to the transparent plays that have cost us too many times. That pass break up by Gilmore on the last Jags play was a sight to behold...

That’s the most frustrating part, let Jack go and then review the play, why call it dead at that time? It takes some doing to go to Foxboro and have more rushing yards, more possession, more turnovers, more sacks and still lose. Brady only had 25 yards more passing than Bortles. Painful end to...

Smith plays smart and safe, I think that would suit Coughlin and Marrone’s ‘keep the ball’ mantra.

Dareus has been a revelation for our run defence. He seems to have really bought into the culture that Coughlin has swiftly developed. The defence all look up to Calais Campbell and he’s really set the tone.

Yep. I think there’s a decent QB in there somewhere but we simply don’t use his strengths. He’s really good on the move, roll outs, play actions and when he rushes. Hackett only calls screen passes though which makes Blake look like a chump. I suspect if Allen Robinson was available we’d be...

Only just caught up with this thread, enjoying the Bortles hate  he’s had a couple of seriously rough games, but he’s been without his receivers and has no tight end, also the o-line isn’t creating any lanes for Fournette. I can only defend Bortles so far though, he’s made some horrible...

Another professional display from my Jaguars. Defence goes from strength to strength, but the bigger story right now is what’s happening with the offence. Yesterday Fournette was out, along with our first, second and third choice receivers. 326 passing yards and 138 on the ground. Something has...

They need to be smart in free agency this year. As you say, the Jags has play makers but something wasn’t right. This year we brought in Calais Campbell and A.J. Bouye. Campbell is the Jags franchise single season sack leader, with 3 games to go. Bouye has 6 interceptions already. These guys...

Injuries are really starting to take their toll now, from the offence the Jags have lost WR1 Allen Robinson, WR2 Allen Hurns, RT Jermey Parnell, LG Patrick Omameh, Fournette and Cam Robinson both banged up too. Relying on rookies and backups.

I wasn’t basing the running game comment on last night alone, we’ve a very strong run defence now since we traded Dareus from the Bills. I’m a fan of Duke Johnson, saw him play for the Canes at the Sun Life Stadium and he ruined the opposition.

7-3 suckers! Almost feel sorry for the Browns, they remind me of the Jags of last year, stout defence, not a bad run game and a couple of decent receivers, unfortunately they have a young QB that makes very questionable decisions that kills their momentum.
