We tried that the previous January, we splashed out on Ulloa which was the missing piece of the jigsaw, unfortunately we fell short and we've going backwards since. If Bournemouth don't go up this year I'd expect the same sort of thing will happen to them.
Exorbitant running costs of the stadium, players wages much higher than Withdean, general wages astronomical compared to Withdean years I'd imagine, extra running costs due to training facilities.
I agree, but I still don't think we'll do too much business in this window. As I suggested in my first post, this squad is strong enough to survive, especially with Hughton in charge. I could fully appreciate Hughton waiting until the summer to get the players he really wants, unless a player is...
Again, I don't think it's complacency, it's pragmatism.. Anyway, I'm sure if you ask any manager they could always tell you that they would like to improve their squad in certain areas, that doesn't mean that they'll get what they want. Considering how strict the board have been with the budget...
It's not about being complacent, I'd say pragmatic is more like it. Hughton is good enough to keep this squad up, what's the point in rushing out and signing players just for the sake of it, the club did that in August and it didn't really work out did it. Players go at an inflated premium in...
I'm wondering if we'll do much business, if any at all. I think the squad is capable of surviving but the play offs are too distant, I could see Tony holding back the funds and Hughton having until the summer to assess the squad and see what he needs/wants.
