In the euphoria of last season's promotion to the Premier League, people seem to have forgotten about Stockdale's many errors. Yes ok he did many good things too, but he is far from a great goalkeeper, merely a good one.
Oh and by the way, isn't it time we moved on now?.
You can bet your bottom dollar that he son't be living in Brum.
Some lovely countryside mansions in Warks or Worcs where he can park up his Bentley Continental though.
No. I'm largely with Knocky on this one. Being fortunate enough to be a professional footballer comes with many resposibilities. One of those is not to rub your adoring fans noses in the dirt, by being an arse on twitter, and dangling pics of their kid being handed a Leeds shirt for every Tom...
Big difference with Glenn though, when he signed for Palarse it was because the Albion pushed him out. Stockdale is revered here, by most people at least.
Well I guess he has the right to decide what he wants to do, but I agree that some sort of timesacle needs to be put on it, to give us the time to find a capable replacement.
Nicky Rust, what a keeper? I hope that was said tongue in cheek! If it's a cheap replacement for Stocko that we are looking for, look no further than the FDM. He sits in the stand and watches most home games anyway. You never know, he may even pay the club to wear the jersey again.
That's my concern too. With only five weeks until he is a free agent, we need to have plans in place to find another competent keeper. It's a core position in the team, and capable, (and available), Premier League goalkeepers are difficult to find.
I very much think we are in a small minority here, but I absolutely agree with what you say. In what was ultimately a very successful season, people are happy to laud the great saves that he did make, but conveniently forget all of the occasions costly errors were made, of which there were...
