Not sure that last sentence is true. Deadly Danson seemed to think it WAS over pay and ASLEF are being clumsy. Like I said yesterday, ASLEF have muddied the waters. This supports that view.
Again, I think Mick Whelen should be subject to a vote of no confidence as he's being out-thought by a...
Yup, it does make sense. Well, what you have written does. ASLEF's decision to muddy the waters by chucking in a pay dispute after saying, 'it's never been about pay', less so! As you say, the timing is terrible as it now looks like it's about the money and at a time when you need the public...
ASLEF don't help themselves when they use wording like 'pay dispute' in their OWN literature. I 100% believe Deadly Danson when he says it's not about pay, but his and his colleagues cause is not helped when their own union puts that out.
Please excuse my confusion, but I thought the Gibb Report was what the ABC et al was trying to get in the public eye. Now it is, it's being rejected (or at least the conclusions) as a biased load of old bollocks.
Is that correct?
Just a heads up for Coastway West users, the 1632 to from Southampton to Brighton has been cancelled. It's the one that is at Worthing at 1755ish and Shoreham about 1805. Was due into Brighton at 1820ish
You could put a blue rosette on Jimmy Saville and Mid Sussex would vote for him. Fatty Soames is in the safest of safe seats, he doesn't need to do a thing.
Exactly mate. As I said above, if every member of staff only worked their rota with no filling in of the gaps, it would show how woefully staffed SASTA are. The unions would be doing nothing wrong and the only mugs would be SASTA. Whammo, commuters back on side with the staff.
That's all well and good, but you have to ask why people are turning. Before, the unions had overwhelming support, but stunts like calling strikes over Christmas and not combining strikes will cause massive loss of public support, despite what comrade Mick says. Bans on rest day working -...
I get that, but I'm pretty sure if you asked the average passenger on the street, they'll hope SASTA prevent the strike, even if it is through the courts. I certainly would, so it is in ASLEF's best interests to get talking, even if all it does is delay the inevitable. My hatred (and it is...
Either Brighton and take your chances with rammmed Thameslink trains, or Havant/Petersfield and pick up South West Trains to Waterloo. GWR will only get you to London from the Thames Valley, as the only GWR service through Shoreham runs between Brighton and Bristol.
