That would be Corinthian Casuals, formed in 1939 from Corinthian and Casuals. The original club was formed in 1882 with the ethos: “sportsmanship, fair play and playing for the love of the game”...
Bizarre. I've literally given you the Corinthian's raison d'etre as per their founder and also from FIFA. What part of this is me not knowing the history of the club?
Angry man.
That comment I quoted about gentlemen not deliberately fouling their opponents was from their founder. Here's another from FIFA's potted history of the club: For their founders and their players, amateur ideals, gentlemanly conduct and fair play were of far greater consequence than...
A rose-tinted view of the past, that's what. As Neville's Breakfast has said, there's always been cheating and it's always been a part of the game where if you can get away with it then you're encouraged to do so. This was the reason Corinthians was formed - to counter this attitude.
George Best never dived? Franny Lee would disagree. Fast forward to 48 secs.

And Franny Lee should know. He was notorious himself for diving, so much so that he was given the nickname Lee Won Pen.
You need to take those rose-tinted specs off. One of the oldest football clubs in the world, Corinthians FC, was founded on the ethos: "a gentleman would never commit a deliberate foul on an opponent.".
Maradona invented cheating? I don't think so.
Okay...very bad choice of words. I'll take those two words back. Let's just say that I can see why he does it so often when he gets away with it so often.
I hate the bloke, I hate that he cheats but all the while he can get away with it then it puts his team at a huge advantage. And diving isn't a modern phenomenon, cheating isn't a modern football 'thing' - it's as old as the game itself. I'll cheer and admire Murray when he pulls one of the many...
We've known about it longer than most. Don't forget it was all those penalties that Zaha and Murray won that got them promotion out of the Championship. He sets out to win penalties, it's his MO and he's a Jedi Master at it.
Jacqui Oatley hits the nail on the head here.
