Can't get too hung up on nostalgic notions of Brighton in the 'good old days'... in the past its been more violent and more run down... as a big fan of the Basketmakers, for instance, was surprised to hear that this bastion of civility, good cheer and fine ale was in the 70s a no-go bikers pub...
