    [Football] Potter [NOT] at Chelsea

Exactly. He WAS a good coach for us. He DID do a marvellous job. I accept his demeanour, his lack of empathy with the fans ('history lesson') and of course the spectacular exit mean that he will never be an Albion legend (unlike Hughton), but he was a part, an important part, of the journey to...

    [Football] Potter [NOT] at Chelsea

Both of these points are of course laughably true. The only reason for appointing Lampard is that Boehly is hoping to get the fans onside until the end of the season; at least Stamford Bridge shouldn't be so toxic now that a club legend is in charge. And there's so many players and they are...

    [Football] Potter [NOT] at Chelsea

Now that the dust has settled it WAS a stupid appointment. Potter's achievements were to get a team from the Arctic Circle into the top flight of Swedish football, nearly get Swansea to the play-offs, and get Brighton a top-ten finish. All laudable achievements in their own right, but to manage...

Agreed. The thing that us made us so successful, imo, isn't down to one factor. It's not just the manager, who, yes has to be good (and Potter was good), it's also all the other bits: the visionary owner with CLEAR plans and strategies, the patient board, the top-notch CEO, the recruitment team...

    [Football] Potter [NOT] at Chelsea

Don't be so precious, of course you can post your opinion. However if you come onto a thread called 'Potter at Chelsea' you shouldn't be surprised when most of the posts are about, er, Potter at Chelsea. (Some NSC thread titles are a bit opaque, this one however isn't). If you do think it's...

Indeed. In fact I wonder why they bothered poaching the likes of Winstanley et al? Our recruitment model is based on clever-clever analysis and trying to find the uncut diamonds, Chelsea still seem to be yer bog-standard Big Club happy to pay billions to hoover up all the established talent they...

    [Football] Potter [NOT] at Chelsea

Hmm. I appreciate the sentiment, but if after Chelsea he ends up at another club at our level (Southampton, Leeds, Forest, West Ham etc) and works his magic on them then it WILL affect us as we'll have another rival for 'Top Team Outside The Big Seven'.
