Freddie Kitchens the new Head Coach at Cleveland. Probably deserves a shot after his work in the 2nd half of the season - and Mayfield loves him apparently. The optimist in me hopes it'll work out like Gareth Southgate, (the pessimist thinks his lack of top class NFL experience will count...
Brilliant wasn't it? :lolol: Quite cheered me up after the English football. (Both codes, soccer and Rugby). You never know, we could only be about three or four games off a winning season this year!
"Here we go Brownies Woof! Woof!"
Excellent news. After the promise of the early games we've reverted to form. Whoever takes over, almost by definition they cannot do any worse than Jackson did.
I did like the way Yahoo Sports covered the story. At the bottom of the article was this:
Note: A previous version of this article referred to the Chargers as being from San Diego. We regret the error, but not that much, because you’ve made the same error yourself, and the Chargers really ought...
I ****ing hate football. And I'm not one to say 'sack the manager' (or coach) when a team loses, and I appreciate that the franchise wanted to stop the 'revolving door' policy (as that hadn't worked) and stick with one guy through thick and thin - but Jackson's record is now 3-35-1. I see he's...
Me too! We could be 5-0 this season ... on the other hand we could also be 0-5!
Whatever happens though at least we didn't cock up the Draft this year. I don't think a franchise ever got it so consistently wrong year after year the way we did; it almost defied belief.
Morning everybody! And how are we all on this fine morning after a truly excellent weekend? All well I hope. Brighton winning, Palace (and relegation rivals) losing .... and the Browns winning in overtime! (With truly one of the most ugly field goals I've ever seen).
Brilliant!
Thank you for your kind words. This is actually the first time this week I've been able to face opening this thread, and I haven't seen any highlights of any game this week.. It's crazy I know when we've only won one game in two years, but I really thought we'd get something against the Raiders...
Jets tonight, and more than likely for us Browns fans another case of "See what you could have had". Bet Sam Darnold throws 4 TD passes, scrambles another, has no interceptions, is never sacked, and then for good measure and to take the piss comes in for a defensive play, intercepts a Mayfield...
We'll do this by elimination:
You've already been told not the Colts. I'd add to that list the Bills, Lions, Browns (sadly) and Raiders. I'm sure others can add a few.
PS - The Vikings are my outside tip to win it if you want to look beyond the usual favourites (Pats/Eagles/Ravens) - so don't...
Ha! That's a typical Browns stat! (I'm almost proud of it). Ditto in order to win in OT we only needed a simple field goal. Could we do it? Could we f...,.
A Tie! What a fourth quarter comeback! No 0-16 for us this season! Ok it was only against the Steelers and not a decent team (and they turned it over six times), but still. We'd have folded last season. Pity we couldn't nick it in O/T, but still, baby steps and all that.
Here we go Brownies...
Yeah, when I first met him (I knew he was a big football fan before I met him) I'd just assumed he'd be a Chargers fan. I was really surprised when he said he wasn't interested. He'd never even been to a game. (I suppose the nearest English equivalent is living in somewhere like Wigan but not...
None at all I'm afraid! (Although my aunt was a GI bride and lived in Texas for many years). And yeah, you're right about pre-season, but us Browns fans will take any win we can get! (And after the Albion's performance at Watford, it's something to cling on to).
For the college game I look out...
After last season I'm not reading ANYTHING into pre-season! You're probably right to be worried, but one thing at a time. At least the QB threw some completed passes, baby steps and all that.
Yeah, there's a few of us on here who are big NFL fans. Indeed if I was only allowed one sport to watch for the rest of my life I would probably choose (American) football. Who do you follow? And also do you prefer NFL or College football?
