Very much this, Ridgewell has consistently played at the highest level for the last 10 years and is still only 30. Gera is 35 now but could be selective in the matches we play him. On his day still a match winner.

I see that West Brom did not exercise their 1 year option on Ridgewell and have also released Gera. I think Ridgewell alongside Upson with Dunk and Greer pushing for selection would be a great option for us next season. He can also play at left back. Gera whilst in the twilight of his career...
