I think you're doing a massive disservice to younger generations. Plenty of people in their teens and 20s are big fans of Bowie. Just because they weren't around when the music first came out doesn't have a bearing on whether they should like it, relate to it or be positively effected by it.

This isn't the thread for this. Just leave it.

Just heard Ricky Gervais talking about DB's death, and re-counting a story about emailing him on his 57th birthday: It read: “57? Isn’t it about time you got a proper job? Ricky Gervais, 42, Comedian.” He replied: “I have a proper job. David Bowie, 57, Rock God.”

You don't really need such a sub-heading on a thread which is clearly for tributes/stories/memories, because it's pretty bloody obvious that anything negative wouldn't really be welcomed or appropriate. If this was a thread discussing his music in general then fair enough.

This quote's probably been on this thread already, so apologies if it has but it probably sums up things today: "I don't know where I'm going from here, but I promise it won't be boring." So DB told the crowd at his 50th birthday concert, anyway. RIP - I'm sure wherever you've gone certainly...
