I got rained on in the East Stand Upper. Looking forward to heading home to the (dry) WSU.

Then why did they put the whole stadium on sale for day 1 for the Palace cup game last season, when anyone who has their finger on the pulse of fan sentiment could have told you it was going to be a very low attendance?

Nah - it would have been spot on if they'd opened all areas of the ground at the same time. I know a few people who are annoyed they bought lower tier and then looked on in dismay as the upper tiers were opened one by one.

And I believe you were in my exact seats, so very front row of the WSU. I love those seats, and can't see me ever giving them up.

I was still too slow to get front row. Second row it is.

It was East first for the Coventry game wasn't it? Works for the TV cameras, I guess.

1,000 left, give or take. Only a few blocks with groups of four for any families, and essentially none with a side-on view of the pitch.

Weak. Didn't you play this game last year?

It's bizarre isn't it? Give people a choice now rather than make them go for seats they might not really want, only to feel annoyed in a day or two.

I don't think it will be tomorrow, but maybe there is sufficient new purchases tomorrow for that to happen.

Struggling to see that. How many general sale people are there that don't have a STH,a membership or don't know a STH to have bought with already.

Very rough addition took me to about 5,000 seats available.

Giraffe - trust you'll be keeping us up to date with ticket sales so we know when the upper tiers are going to open?

Indeed, which is why I won't be taking advantage on this occasion!

I really don't think I can be convinced that the club have got the free-for-all approach wrong. This is exactly the sort of game where those who don't come to Albion games much/at all will do so, in many cases with season ticket holders. By allowing anyone to choose any (released) seat, then it...

It’s a bargain £99+VAT for middle tier seat, 3 course meal and unlimited booze for this one.

I think the "free for all" approach is the best one, as it allows people to bring along friends and family that might not be STHs and they can all sit together. If you do bide your time for an upper tier, there is every chance you will be able to get your own seat as 18,000 other Albion fans...
