It wouldn't of course, but you seemed to be stating the case for a 0% limit. Therefore any detectable alcohol in the bloodstream would lead to a conviction being pursued, whether that's come from Christmas cake, medicine (some medicines are as strong as 12.5%) or whatever.

I think part of the problem is that it strikes me that people think the risk of drink driving is getting caught not killing others and/or themselves. "I can't drive - I might get caught" rather than "I can't drive - I might kill someone". It's because of this that, presumably, the "Don't drink...
