I thought he was great today, Maupay - Bissouma - Dunk were an awesome spine through that team. He was a threat throughout, some nice interplay, came short and held it well, always finding spaces to receive the ball. Hopefully a little run of goals for him now.
Wasn't a criticism of him, or that he does it all the time, but when he does do it, no one goes beyond him if Connolly isn't playing. Wolves goal not really relevant to that point given it was a ball over the top he brilliantly latched on to. :shrug:
My criticism is that he likes to come deep to get the ball, and as with last night, it leaves no one beyond him when he does that without Connolly in the side.
Another goal and the 23 year old Frenchman is starting to look like a bargain. His link up play, holding the ball, and movement are all impressive and the goals are starting to go in with regularity. He looks hungry, determined and getting better.
1. Sam Baldock hasn't managed more than 11 goals in a Tier 2 season. Neal Maupay managed 12 and 25 in consecutive seasons as a 21 and 22 year old.
