After a bit more research, have you had any experience with Eco Solutions X-Tex? Supposedly a safe wet system removal of textured surfaces. Hove tip has an asbestos bin, so as long as double bagged, I should be fine for disposal. Looks like patient work, but worth a go.

Thanks for the response. I am tempted to do it myself and just get it done, but also want to ensure I don't do anything particularly stupid. I'm assuming I could just double bag the waste to the local tip? It isn't a huge amount of area to do really. I'll PM you tomorrow.
