I did say this at the time watching, but introspect this only worked because of General Hux's arrogance and hubris. If I remember correctly, he was told to deal with the cruiser as it turned, but chose to concentrate fire on the departing ships. Admiral Holdo's ploy of flying into them at light...
I might be wrong but the MF was tracked because they planted a device in the ship. In this latest film I think the implication was they were being tracked without any device being planted? Or did I miss a bit?
BUT, we don't know how any other force persons, jedi or otherwise developed? We don't know who had force abilities pre-training, who didn't. That leaves the story writing open. Same with Luke projecting himself. After death appearances weren't about pre Obi Wan as far as we know, Qui Gon could...
Luke had a few hours with Obi Wan, then a short period with Yoda. That was it.
Anakin had no training and was able to use the force to win a pod race no other human was capable of.
Luke alludes to Ben Solo's initial ability as nothing he'd seen before, or not power like it as with Rey.
We...
How do you know how all force able kids developed or didn't and at what pace? In APM we learn that some 'slip through the net' because the Jedi obviously actively seeked out young kids who display force abilities before any training. We know that Yoda considered Luke too old to train. We don't...
I can only offer conjecture that a) the appearance of Fin and Rose gave these kids with no hope, something to dream about. Perhaps that encounter has unlocked his force ability the same as the circumstances in TFA awakened Rey's. b) he doesn't realise it is a power that could be applied to other...
Have to disagree. Luke always was a bit of a dick right? In ANH, he's all bumping into people bars, stropping out with his guardians because he can't go shopping with his mates, teenage dizzy over a girl in a hologram, saying stupid lines like 'I'm Luke Skywalker I'm here to rescue you'...
Only she isn't. Thought she understood Ren - failed. Couldn't save the resistance, only take a few tie fighters with her, Luke saves the resistance - failed. She is conflicted, went straight for the dark side - failed. If you really knew what a Mary Sue was after banging on about it for 2 years...
Just seen it - really liked it. Enjoyed the humour, the ESB-esque bleakness, the Rey/Ren dynamic and their development. The film was well paced but did feel like we shed some detail to get a fair chunk of story in.
