Am I the only one a little bit disappointed?
I want a bit of a contest here. I don't want a test match over in 2 days. I want them to fight tooth and nail, maybe even make us bat again. Even in our 5-0 whitewash defeat, I don't remember us being this bad, we were bad but we stayed in games...
Shame for all the people with tickets tomorrow if they don't put up a decent fight. The ECB are going to be right shafted with the tickets lost over these two matches.
I'd have taken that at the start of that session. 3 wickets down, but the ball 30 overs old now, and a 39 run lead. Crucial next session to shape the rest of this match.
We have them 10-3 after 8 deliveries!!! Broad got 8 wickets 5 maidens, for 15 runs!!!
Green top surface, overcast this morning, Aussies batting like its a flat track in Adelaide.
Titanic has no superstitious impact on cricket like many of us do. He posts regular updates on every match, he is teflon in terms of cricket voodoo.
I on the other hand, would cause an instant wicket if I was to say something like Cook is looking good here.....
I think we've batted okay. Lyth got a late swinger, Bell got a swinging leg stump yorker. Both these deliveries would have troubled the best of batsmen, this isn't the pitch where you just cruise through an innings. Got to keep our heads because wickets will fall regularly.
Lyth unlucky there, Cook has edged, played and missed more times than he has, but Lyth gets a really good one, not a lot he could do about that.
I think we need to stick with him.
Does require the question of when does a slip become a gully? By the time you have 5 slips, isn't 6th slip a gully? Or does there have to be a reasonable gap? I've never quite known the answer...
does it actually go 1st slip......5th slip, 6th slip, gully, 2nd gully, square gully...
It does...
Lyth will be soiling his pants right now. However, he needs to get his mind right, they all do, it's not as bad as the Australian's are making it look.
Does look flat now, probably still batting at tea with a decent 200 on the board on this wicket. We've actually bowled ourselves into trouble this morning!!
