Right now, from looking 2nd best in this test match other than the first hour or so, Australia would be chuffed to bits to be chasing anything less than 400. Crucial part of the game now. We have got to edge past that 400 lead to feel anything like safe from losing this game.
Light rain from 11.00 60% chance, only 50% chance of any rain from 13.00, and looking dry into the afternoon. Keep positive about the weather too please!
There is no real rush though is there? 338 lead, 19 overs left today, then 2 full days left. Just let them go at their own pace I reckon. Scoring 3 an over is going to see us around 400 in the lead tonight. Sensible batting, these two get us up to say 380 or so, then maybe start taking some risks.
Been really pleased with how Cook as approached this match. He's been positive, not just attacking fields, but even his defensive fields have had wicket taking unconventional positions. He didn't panic when they went after Moeen, and ultimately that turned their innings.
I've not seen our seam...
Exactly. Umpires have been making good and bad LBW calls since the law was introduced. All DRS does is eliminate the bad ones.
In retrospect, without DRS you would say it was a bit high, but on first view the umpire may have felt there was no doubt it was hitting the stumps, even if DRS shows...
Just needed to leave and use a straight bat until lunch. We've lost two wickets, first to an attempted clip to the leg side off a ball that was straight, second attempting to cut a ball straight after a break. Seriously, lets not make this easy for them.
