Probably chucked out when albion went 2-1 down.

Excellent. That was what the club meant - get tickets from someone who can vouch for your situation. Not asking random fans to simply trust you are not a tout or Man City fan - at the expense of risk to their season tickets.

We can't be already down before the game, of course.

If I was a Man City fan ( or a tout ) spinning a yarn on NSC to get tickets, I'd perhaps wait until after the Cardiff v Palace game or the Arsenal v Albion game. Before then, and maybe after, I'd expect a lot of grumpiness about the prospect of Man City fans in the home stands.

Yes, the club - that tells us not to sell or give tickets to people we don't know - is probably your best bet.

But you can see though that any fan who offers you a ticket is taking a risk as to whether you are in fact a tout or a man city fan spinning a yarn ? ???

Good advice if that fan is someone you know. But with the severe penalties for the fan if these tickets end up in Man City hands, you can perhaps see why fans are reluctant to trust a stranger.
