I believe, but could be wrong, that Potter will employ Stephens to break up attacks in front of the back 4 or 3 and then him give the ball to either Propper, Bissouma or Gross to carry and pass it forward. That ensures a fast change around from defending in numbers to attacking in numbers.
Stephens is the kind of holding midfielder that every team in the Premier wants irrespective of who the manager is. Name me a top 6 side that doesnt have one, you will not be able to.
Last season Izzy was out injured, Knockhaert half hearted and not effective, March and Jahakanbahsh too set up to defend so with LT an AJ playing down the wings from wide midfield will provide more chances for whoever is up front to score more goals.
You have completely changed that as the only 2 that I said we should sign was Paul Rogers and Trevor Stevens and Alan Mullery sent the then Chief Scout to watch Stevens who said no he was too small. I was sent to Sutton to watch a striker Francis Ariwateife and saw Rogers playing for them and...
No nothing to do with me, I think that Richard Tiltman was a Lloyd protege. I did recommend Paul Rogers when playing at Sutton but he went to Sheff Utd but eventually came to us. Also Trevor Stevens at Burnley as a 15 year old and we all know how his career went. Most that I was sent to...
I think that you can gauge a player being ready in a a very few minutes. I once went to watch a CB playing for Cambridge, name alludes me, for Barry LLOYD and after a few minutes I realised that he wasnt as good as we had at the club already and reported as such. He was signed by Mansfield...
No where near ready if needed in an emergency, as he has shown in cup games, so will probably have a season loan at a lower league club then perhaps he will be ready for the step up. He is still only 19 years old so time is on his side. When I said young I was meaning about 21/22 and with...
Ollie McBurnie? Or a young one to bring on and as back up to Andone and Locadia. I thin k that TB could go against his principles and stick with what we have to see how they do and then if needed buy in January.
I understand the logic of paying more wages to get so called better players but cannot understand the logic that suggests that Dunk Duffy Propper etc will play better if they earned £70k per week rather than £45k which is what the continual moaning about our wage bill suggests.
You have missed out our best and most effective midfielder for the past 3 seasons Stephens. I hope that your selection is wrong because it would herald another season of struggling.
