That may be so and I wouldnt disagree but the ref can only do so to the rules that are in force and the ref did exactly that.- BensGrandad

My reading of the rule is that if a defender PLAYS the ball it then immediately puts the attacker onside where as in the past it was if the defender touched the ball it did the same.- BensGrandad
