Where and who is the next Kevin Peterson?

Is that definite or could he perhaps be talked around to reconsider. How is Bells average going this season.

Can somebody help and find the up to date averages in county cricket this season for both Ian Bell and Jonathan Trott who would both be in the running if the recall of an oldie is considered.

Even he would have been an improvement on what we had at the time but Luke Wright wouldnt be as he is a hit and miss big score or nothing batsman the likes of which we are complaining about.

Has Balance not had plenty of opportunities to show his metal and failed generally so perhaps he joins Mark Ramprakash and others as a good county player who cannot cut it at test level.

Exactly what I was saying and you slated me for saying it. No 3 has been a problem for most of my time of watching cricket and many good county batsmen were tried and failed to make the step up.

Who is there to consider for the No 3 spot?

The other 10 cannot do that but if the no3 could stay there for a while we could begin to build an innings around him with others perhaps scoring quicker.Probably needs him to stay for 3 or 4 hours rather than 1. 1 hour would bd an improvement on the present.

Could we try Moeen at 3 above Balance and Root if there is no better to pick.

We need an opener to replace Strauss which we havent found and a no 3 batsmen that can stay there for a. Hour or so to hold his end up if Root is going to be a succes at 4 failing that put him in at 5 followed by Bairstow then Stokes but that reduces the bowling strength. That was a disgrace...

The obvious answer is to scrap some or most of the one day competitions but the counties need the cash they generate. Or accept we have a generally poor test team.

Perhaps we should entice Atherton and Vaughan out of retirement just to plah test matches not 1 day village green stuff.
