No it didnt as we were trying to get permission and needed Lewes Council we have the ground now which is outside of their domain so they should have no say in what happens, only within their area.
My suggestion was a deal with yellow buses providing the transport and we provide the parking space taking into account many games will not be at 3.00pm Saturday.
I dont know but I would think that there is land north of Tates at Pyecombe on the A23 which would suffice. The major criteria would be that it doesnt stop at bus stops like the usual services perhaps just St Peters Church , The Old Steine possibly and then Churchill Sq similarly on the...
I did say on non match days. The same could be done at the racecourse on non race days to utilize empty spaces to ease the congestion in the city centre. The obvious answer is to open up land on the A23, A27 and East of Brighton to operate an efficient P &R system but that will never happen.
If going to the shop there always appears to be plenty of parking space even if there is something else going on. Only a very small fraction is used for the club and other functions. Perhaps the club could do a deal with Yellow Buses to run a service non stop Amex to The Old Steine or...
That is how the effective systems work so why is it beyond Brighton and Hove Council? I am sure the Yellow buses would be interested in providing the buses at a reasonable rate if B & H wont. Compass wouldnt as they are very profit driven.
Sorry I thought that you meant me as I wouldnt pay. In my case I park at Asda and get the 5B into town do what I have to and get back ASAP. If I expect to be any length of time I park in the slip road opposite Sainsburys in Carden Ave (was The Snipe) and still get the 5B.
That is my point it should be an affordable usable P & R to ease the congestion in the city centre. As regards trains I never use them as I have An OAP bus pass which I use even for home games as right or wrong I think it may save the club money.
I mentioned this to my son and daughter in law as they are going shopping in Brighton pre holiday next wek and as they said which is probably typical " we will drive and pay to park as we wont be in Churchill Sq for 4 hours
Because the council want to keep cars out of the city centre and the P & R does not help as well as ii could with a little thought and re organisation.
If it was just you yes I agree but if you had 5 seater with each taken by an adult would that then be VFM whuch is my whole point. The car park can accomodate X number of cars be they either with 1 person of 5 people in them.
