I would expect and hope that CH and his team have made contingency plans should any club offer a bid that is too good to refuse. They have had 6 months to monitor the market and possible availability of players.

Did we actually reject '£8m in the summer' I thought that it was £8m spread over a couple of years, which is not the same as straight rejecting a bid.

Not much to choose between them but we definitely missed Stephens when he was out and it showed.but it doesnt show as much with the absence of Kayal.. The difference this year to lastr as that we have an adequate replacement for one of our good players which we didnt last year after Bong then...

Sorry to disagree I would keep Stephens as we have shown we do not miss Kayal and his replacements are more than adequate.

Stephens is the foundation on which our team is built without foundations a house may look nice but will fall down eventually.

If that is true about the £4m signing oin fee I would expect the club to give him it as it would cost that plus to replace him and they know that. They will have already lost the £6m fee so it is big bucks to spend or lose.

If you had £10 you wouldnt try to buy an I pod for £200 unless the you expected the seller to accept £5 deposit and the rest of the balance at £1 per week and that wouldnt happen, which you wouldnt expect them to.

Has this not all escalated because Burnley didn't have the money to buy Dale Stephens and wanted to buy him on very extended terms that BHA wouldnt accept. So even with the promotion prize money they still cant afford to buy a player.

Where does this come from? It was widely reported in the summer that his wife didnt want to move as his child was due to start school. His family may hold the sway plus our team spirit and a sizeable pay rise could decide it.

Hopefully Stephens will answer that in December by us being in for promotion, him getting a pay rise and signing a new contract.
