As MA said the keeper is paid to stop shots how he does it and how often is immaterial. That is his job so as in this case he did what he is paid to do. Lets hope he continues to do so.

When he stopped the ball according to that picture he is never 2 yds from the 6yd line just behind him.

How far would a 6ft3in man go forward if he threw him self at the ball. I think that anwers the point. Lets hope he is not called upon to prove anything tomorrow.

I think that you were inferring that he came out about 5 or 6 yds then threw himself at the ball. As opposed to throwing himself from virtually where he was.

We must all agree to disagree as I would have been very disappointed had not done what he did, whether or not it worked is a totaly different kettle of fish. As it happened it did, had it not I would still have expected him to have made the attempt.

he didnt close the gap he just threw himself at the ball in a do or die effort. He didnyt have time to close the gap as you put it. Instinct told him to charge the ball down, which he did

Dont get me wrong it earnt us a point but I do not consider a desperate throw yourself at the ball/player as good a save as Marshall performed diving towards his post to push a shot around the post, that to me is a good save. Or getting up and tipping a shot over the bar that to me is the...

What else could he do it was an instantaneous reaction he didnt have time to think what he might do or not do.

No such thing because if I was in it, to start the argument, it wouldnt be empty.

How do you know what he thought? Had he thought otherwise I am sure he would have put extra beef on it to make sure it reached him, he has been around a while now and is not an untried 17 year old.

Learn to read I never said that I said Dunk probably assumed he was nearer to him. The save was not down to luck as again I said he did what comes natural he threw himself at the ball and hoped. It came off this time on another in similar circumstances, it perhaps wouldnt

The keeper did all he could and flung himself at the ball and fortunately it worked nothing to do with wanting to do that. Dunk must have assumed that like normal DS was further off his line than he was and nearly paid the price.

On Tuesday we showed that our defence has come to terms with the style SH wants to play and in Greer and Dunk have 2 very good centre backs and they are well covered by Holla and Ince, when he is played. At no time did we look as if we would concede another goal. As regards DS I thought...

That could be because their style is a bit gung ho, similar to ours and their defence isnt all that. We have conceeded the goals despite having 2 good central defenders and defensive midfielders.
