I felt that the term gay, in this context, was referring to the thread being idiotic/wrong/useless etc. Either way, I was not offended so it makes no difference to me.

I am not offended by people calling this thread 'gay'. Maybe I would, if I were gay, but who knows?

Bit of a moot point, I guess. The word offence, to me, means something personal. I don't take offence to something that does not apply to me. However, I do think that people do not have a real understanding off offensive behaviour if they have not experienced it themselves and I do not think it...

I don't see why? Why should/could someone be offended by something that they have not experienced?

Who cares if people think disabled people MIGHT be offended? Surely it would be appropriate to ask the people that are diasbled, if they are offended? It is not your place to decide if someone is offended or not, if you are not afflicted with a disabilty.
